Engineers Without Borders USA builds a better world through engineering projects that empower communities to meet their basic human needs and equip leaders to solve the world’s most pressing challenges. At the heart of EWB-USA is its commitment to communities: a true partnership is essential in order for the projects to succeed. Together, we identify and implement appropriate solutions that communities are equipped to maintain for years to come. EWB-USA’s vision is a world in which every community has the capacity to sustainably meet their basic human needs.
EWB-USA UMN: Our Mission
The mission of Engineers Without Borders USA – University of Minnesota is to partner with communities locally and internationally in order to assess and address community-identified unmet needs. We strive to implement engineered projects that prove environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable. At the core of this mission is our commitment to building strong relationships with partner communities and organizations, institutional resources (including UMN and EWB-USA), our student volunteers, and professional mentors. Both as individuals and as a chapter, we are dedicated to continually learning, improving, and adapting.
